Katy L. Day is a digital artist based in Bristol, UK, whose work explores the hidden beauty and complexity of invertebrate life. Drawing from her personal experience of raising pet invertebrates, Katy creates detailed digital paintings that document their life cycles—depicting each stage individually and then weaving them into a single, cohesive composition.

Her work blends the flowing elegance of Art Nouveau with the imaginative depth of surrealism, resulting in visual narratives that are both scientifically curious and emotionally expressive. Through ornate compositions and decorative elements, Katy seeks to reveal the secret lives of insects and invertebrates, highlighting their importance to our ecosystems and what they can teach us about care, resilience, and interconnectedness.

Katy studied BA Drawing at Falmouth University and currently works from her studio in Bristol. She is currently developing a project that combines painting and personal storytelling, using visual storytelling and blog-style writing to deepen the viewer’s connection to her subjects.
